<p>Mount Tronador. Meiling Hut. duration: 2 days season offered: December April
difficulty / level of fitness: moderate / hard description: this is a different
mountain from the others in the area of Bariloche, that means glaciers, ancient
ice, mighty peaks, beautiful waterfalls... This trekking starts 90 kilometers
away from the city, leading us to the "Meiling" mountain hut, going up through
a wonderful forest in the first part and then along a wide ridge of lunar characteristics
(volcanic rocks) with impressive views of the glaciers and waterfalls that soar
for hundreds of meters.</p>
<p> "Colonia Suiza - Pampa Linda" Trekking. duration: 4 or 5 days season offered:
January April difficulty / level of fitness: hard description: this is our
longest and, probably, most interesting trekking. We start at "Colonia Suiza",
a small village 25 kilometers away from Bariloche main town, and pass by mountain
lakes "Negra", "CAB", the "Mate dulce" valley, and other mountain lakes like
"Cretón", "Jujuy" and "Ilón" ascending in between to different ridges and summits.
We finally reach "Pampa Linda" village at the very base of Mount Tronador. It
is important here to have some previous experience in trekkings of two or more
days andto be reasonably fit. This is an unforgettable experience. It is possible
to continue from the end of this trek to "Meiling" Hut or "Paso de las nubes",
both two-day long. </p>
<p>"Campanile" Valley. "Frey" hut. Mount Catedral. duration: two days season offered:
year round difficulty / level of fitness: moderate description: begin with a
morning ascent via cable car or chairlift from ski resort "cerro Catedral" with
a vertical gain of 1000m (3,300 ft.). Thereafter, a hike through mountain trails
and ridges will reveal spectacular views of lake "Nahuel Huapi" and lake "Gutierrez",
mount "Tronador" and many other mountains en valleys of great splendor. Within
three hours of hiking through rocky terrain and few uphill sections, passing
along the way lake "Schmoll", arrive at Mountain Hut Frey 1700m (5600 ft.) situated
along the edges of lake "Toncek". The surroundings of "Frey" is a rock climbers
paradise, a magnificent scene rich in granitic rock formations. The hike down
to Frey requires coordination skills navigating through loose and rocky terrain.
After spending the night in the hut or in tents nearby, we descend through the
"Campanile" valley and its beautiful "lenga" forests and strange looking mountain
swamps, always surrounded by tall granitic spires. In the first hours of the
afternoon we´ll be joining the regular trail that conects the hut with "Villa
Catedral", the bottom of the ski resort and the end of our journey. This is
a highly recommendable and complete trekking if you are looking for amazing
landscapes. ¡Extreme Beauty! </p>
<p>Catedral´s South Peak duration: 3 days season offered: January April difficulty
/ level of fitness: hard description: this is about climbing one of the highest
peaks in the "Nahuel Huapi" National Park. Located in a rarelly visited corner
of the "Catedral" range, it keeps very special landscapes. If the weather is
good enough we´ll be spending one or two nights in a rock cave at 2000 meters
over the sea level, inside "Campanile" valley wich is one of the most spectacular
places in the area of Bariloche. The last stretch to the summit is an easy and
short rock climb in which we´ll be using ropes and other gear to guarantee your
safety. For this ascent it is recommendable to have some previous experience
in trekkings of more than one day and rocky terrain. An unique and unforgettable
experience. </p>
<p>"Frey - Jakob" Trekking. duration: 3 days season offered: year round difficulty
/ level of fitness: moderate / hard description: a classic and highly recommendable
trekking involving visits to two mountain huts, both located in landscapes of
fantasy: the "Frey" hut by the shore of lake "Toncek" and "San Martin" hut by
the lake "Jakob". We spend one night in each hut or nearby in tents. Before
the final stretch down from "San Martin" Hut, we visit the mountain lake "Tempanos",
another place of indescribable beauty, a few minutes away. </p>
<p>"Paso de las Nubes" Trekking. duration: 2 days season offered: December April
difficulty / level of fitness: low / moderate description: this trekking´s first
par involves boat and bus transportation from Bariloche to lake "Frias", passing
through "Puerto Blest" on lake "Nahuel Huapi". During the walk we´ll be immersed
in a rainforest, very rich in different kinds of trees, bushes, mushrooms, moss
and lichens. We spend the night in tents right at the bottom of the pass and
Mount "Tronador". The journey ends at "Pampa Linda" village on the second day
afternoon. Altogether it´s a mostly flat trekknig, except for the pass in the
middle. </p>
